Frequently asked questions.

How long does the process take?

Most Parent and Child Travel Designs are finished within two to three weeks after you complete the Anchors Intake Form. That window includes your destination options, full itinerary, and any refinements we make together.

What is your refund policy?

Once your Parent and Child Travel Design begins, the work involves significant time, research, and expertise, so the design fee is non-refundable. If unexpected circumstances come up and you need to pause, just let me know — I’m flexible with timelines whenever possible. For details about changes or cancellations after your itinerary is delivered, see the Cancellations, Changes, and Re-Booking section below.

What if our travel plans change?

Life happens. If your dates, destination, or needs shift after I’ve delivered your itinerary, you can always update or cancel your own bookings using the details provided.
If you’d like my support with cancellations or redesigning the trip, I offer that for an additional fee.
For the full breakdown, see the Cancellations, Changes, and Re-Booking section below.

What about travel insurance?

Travel insurance is completely up to you. Some families feel more at ease having coverage in case someone gets sick or plans shift unexpectedly. Others prefer to keep things simple.
I don’t sell or endorse specific policies, but once your trip details are set, I can point you toward reputable options so you can choose what feels right for your family.

Do you plan trips outside the U.S.?

At this time, Parent and Child Travel Design focuses on trips within the United States. This keeps the planning process manageable, accessible, and aligned with the time most families realistically have.
If you’re hoping for an international trip, feel free to ask — I’ll let you know honestly whether it’s something I can take on.

What ages do you work with?

Most trips I design are for kids ages five through the teen years, but the approach works for a wide range of ages. What matters most is your desire to spend intentional time with one child and your willingness to share what they’re into right now. If you’re unsure whether your child’s age or stage is the right fit, just reach out and we can talk it through.

Can I bring more than one child?

Of course and Parent and Child Travel Design is built specifically for one-on-one trips so each child can have your full presence. If you’re hoping for a sibling or full-family trip, reach out and I’ll let you know whether it’s something I can take on.

What if my child has sensory needs, anxieties, or special considerations?

You can absolutely still do this. You’re welcome to share anything that helps me design a trip that feels grounding, supportive, and doable for your child — from sensory sensitivities to anxiety, ADHD, mobility needs, or preferences around noise, transitions, or crowds.
Everything is designed with both of you in mind.

Why wouldn’t I just use ChatGPT to plan a trip?

You can, and many parents do. Tools like ChatGPT are helpful for generating ideas. My work is different. I help you choose what truly fits your child, your relationship, and the realities of your life right now. This is not about more options or a perfect itinerary. It is about designing time together that feels thoughtful, realistic, and meaningful, with a human partner holding the process with you from start to finish.

How much time will this take me?

Very little. You share a handful of details, and I take it from there. The process is intentionally light for parents who are already carrying a full load.

Most families spend:
• a few minutes completing the First Step form
• a short window filling out the Anchors Intake Form once we decide to move forward
• about fifteen minutes watching their personalized Loom
• a brief moment choosing their top destination
• a short exchange during refinements, if needed

Everything else is handled for you.
